Our Story
How We Met
By coincidence, Anna had just moved to Salt Lake City to attend the U after being at USU for two years. Jared had been at the U for a year, but hardly knew anyone because he moved to Salt Lake City fresh off of his mission.
The first time they notably talked to one another, Anna was studying for an exam (wearing her lucky Jurassic Park crewneck and dinosaur necklace). Jared said "Hey, you kind of look like the blonde lady from Jurassic Park", and Anna thought that was the best compliment ever.
Four months later, they started dating!
The Dating Phase
Two years of fun-filled adventures. Every day that Anna and Jared saw each other, their love grew stronger. The best memories usually included taking road trips to California and getting In-N-Out on the regular.
Anna's favorite date was stealing a golf cart at Thanksgiving Point tulip festival. Jared's favorite date was their first Valentine's dinner where he cooked up a masterpiece of a meal and decorated his dingy apartment with Christmas lights.
The Proposal
Jared had known for a long time that he wanted to marry Anna. He had the ring for 10 months before even proposing! Jared devised a plan to dress his brother in a ghillie suit to capture some photos of the moment while disguised as a bush.
Jared then chose a beautiful cliffside on San Onofre beach in California to ask. Anna suspected something was coming when Jared was stressing three weeks prior, but was completely surprised the day it happened.
